Portrait in Acrylics

A new challenge today – painting darkly pigmented skin.  This was a fun portrait to paint, though challenging in judging the darker skin tones.  I am delighted with how this portrait cam out, especially the mouth.   I struggle with the mouth and it took me a while to get this one where I was happy.  The thing I found most challenging was judging the highlights.  This portrait was finished off with some impasto work, giving a lovely texture over the portrait.

This portrait was another exercise from Will Kemp Art School.
